| Our Purpose |

This church shall function in Christian worship, proclamation, education and ministry in order to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. (Ephesians 4:12-13) |

Church Covenant
We, the members of the Fortified Hills Baptist Church, having been led as we believe, by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, do now, in the presence of God and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into a covenant with each other, as one body in Christ.
We, therefore, agree to fulfill each of the following, by the help of the Holy Spirit and with the Scripture, the absolute, authoritative, infallible, living Word of God as our guide. |

| LOVE |
|
We shall walk together in Christian love by;
- watching over each other in brotherly love;
- praying for one another;
- promoting unity, accountability, harmony and holiness;
- aiding each other in sickness and distress;
- giving and receiving assistance with meekness and affection;
- and being courteous in speech, slow to get angry and always eager for reconciliation, seeking it without delay.

| GROW |
|
We shall build each other up in the faith and knowledge by;
- recognizing, committing and submitting to the lordship of God over our lives;
- sustaining worship and dedicating ourselves to the praise and adoration of God;
- observing ordinances regularly;
- teaching and defending sound doctrine;
- discipling and equipping each other to be responsible, reproductive, and mature;
- educating our children according to our faith;
- supporting and encouraging those in authority over the church who serve us as leaders according to the scriptures;
- advocating personal and family devotions and prayer;
- and handling matters of discipline with love and humility.

| SERVE |
|
We shall dedicate ourselves to the spread of the gospel to all nations by;
- sharing the gospel and committing ourselves to prayer for the salvation of unbelievers in our church and community;
- contributing to missions at home and abroad;
- and being an example of Christ in words and actions to those around us.
We shall contribute cheerfully and regularly of God’s tithes and our offerings of time, talents and treasure to the support of the ministry and expenses of our church. In this we shall be just in all our dealings, and reliable in our responsibilities.
We further agree that, when we move from this area, we will as soon as possible unite with some other church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God's Word.
